Isabella's big day!

We had a very exciting day today! Yesterday I got a call from the girl's casting agent as Isabella had been chosen to model for an upcoming Target catalogue! It was so exciting and Isabella thought she was the bees knees (whatever that term means!). She was with 2 other girls and they had soooo much fun dressing up and having their hair and makeup (lipgloss) professionally done. She really enjoyed the hair stylist and sat very still while they played and decided which style to do. Wardrobe supplied her with a Dora the Explorer outfit to which she was utterly thrilled! And they posed alongside Dora furniture and all she wanted to do was play. :)

Then it was photo shoot time. The studio was very cool - it was full of props and items that you would see in catalogues and it was a great experience to see how they take the photos of everything from baby baths, plates, toys to bath towels. They took a variety of shots of the kids using bubbles and silly, fun games. Isabella had such fun and felt like a real princess.

When it was time to give the clothes back to the wardrobe people Bella asked if she was allowed to leave her lip gloss on! She was thrilled when I answered of course she could! So, it was a fun day for both of us. I was thrilled she was chosen and hope she gets some more work in the future. It was reassuring to know she would actually 'perform' on the day as I was a bit worried it would be a complete flop! But put the kid in front of a camera and her McKenzie blood shows! LOL Keep an eye out for her in the Target catalogue in the next few weeks. I am sure I will post the pic here :)

It was such good timing as we fly out to far north Queensland tomorrow morning. Cairns here we come! We are all so excited ! A family getaway is just what the doctor ordered right now for us. We have had some rather devastating news so this trip is going to be a well deserved distraction for us all.
